Full item description
major built in flaw from Subaru is the wimpy turbo inlet tube. Made from weak plastic and corrugated rubber to, it's a recipe to fail! And fail they have. A recent inspection of our 2002 WRX Project car we, revealed to failures. One leak at the BOV crossover, another at the turbo itself. This caused vacuum leaks, drivability was terrible etc. A quick 37minutes of labor later and idle was smooth, no leaks, no backfiring and BETTER performance! The superior construction of the PERRIN inlet has solved the problem!
The PERRIN inlet hose is also able make more HP, quicker throttle response, and improve acceleration! By removing the pleats found in the OEM hose, increase the internal diameter, and mirror smooth finish reduce intake restriction. Thus more HP. Check out the charts page for dyno results! (Will be there shortly!)
Also, PERRIN has an advantage over other brands. Our inlet hose is the only one on the market today that does NOT require the removal of the intake manifold! That is HUGE. Think about it, no fuel to drain, no water lines to remove, no gaskets to purchase, less nuts and bolts. A huge advantage if you do it yourself or pay a technician. Instead of paying for 4-6 hours labor and parts, you should only have to pay for 1-1.5 hours and no extra parts.
